DIRECTIONS TO SPARROW HAWK CAMP
HOW TO GET THERE
Sparrow Hawk Camp is located just five miles northeast of Tahlequah on State Highway 10 (a 10 minute drive from Tahlequah). But the camp is not situated right on the highway. It is about a quarter of a mile off the highway. Signs are posted along the way, to help you find the camp.
Approaching from the west (coming from Tahlequah, Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Dallas, etc.), take U.W. 62 and State 51 East out of Tahlequah for three miles. Turn left on State 10, for two miles. Just after you pass Echota Public Access Area, turn right on the first paved road to the right (Ben George Road), for ¼ mile.
Approaching from the east ( Arkansas, Louisiana, etc.), follow U.S. 62 until it intersects with State 10 ( just past the Illinois River Bridge). Turn right on State 10 for two miles. Just after you pass Echota Public Access Area, turn right on the first paved road to the right (Ben George Road) for ¼ mile.
Approaching from the north (Kansas, Missouri, etc.), go south on State 10 all the way until you pass Sparrow Hawk Mountain. Just after you pass the Oklahoma Scenic Rivers Commission (on the right), turn left on Ben George Road, for ¼ mile.
